Hi CG – I loved your elevator pitch! You really did a great job. I didn’t know that people on average threw away so much food! I think it was a great idea to start the pitch with the fact from the EPA (40%) - $400/year/person. Great way to capture the audience and let them know that whether or not they know it – they have a problem.
Starting with the app was also a good idea with a quick walkthrough. And – of course – the free part “to save more money and fight world hunger”.
LOL – I loved the ending – email me for a refund. Again – great job girl! Definitely a natural!
CG, Awesome Pitch. Sign me up. You can tell that you are much more natural at this sort of thing than most of us. Great use of stats and your delivery made it clear and easy to understand and I also thought that it was very impactful. Great point/hook about the app being free. I mean who doesn’t like free. Looks like we have a few more chances over the next few weeks to practice refining and smoothing out our pitches, which means that yours is going to be scary good. Thanks for sharing, Kevin.
Hi Christie, Wow, 400 bucks... I believe it. We probably spend more in our house... oh, its per person. I like the receipt scanning idea... I would prefer a completely seamless process for the consumer, but scanning a receipt is minimal effort.
Thank you for sharing your elevator pitch. Great job! I loved the hook about the surplus and $400 per person per year. You had me listening and engaged for the whole pitch. I agree with Kevin that you are a natural at this. Your pitch flowed well, and the content was great. I don’t know how you would improve! I can’t wait to see your 2nd and 3rd pitches. Interesting twist that it is free, and very cute about emailing you for a refund. Just one question – how do you make money? Great job! Thanks again for sharing.
Christie, Four hundred dollar surplus! Who wouldn't be all over your innovation? You must have practiced many times for your pitch to be so uncontrived and convincing. Very hard to offer any suggestions for improvements. The receipt scanning idea would be the fastest way to get the information now, without having to get cooperation from stakeholders in the grocery supply chain. I look forward to your next elevator pitch and posts on your blog. Thank you for sharing.
You definitely captured your listener with the amount of money they lose by wasting food. Then by telling them the solution is free and they save $400. From a customer perspective your pitch is music to my ears. You used the time wisely and provided enough information to want to learn more. I know I did. From an investor perspective I would love to hear how I could make money on this invention. With the time constraints its difficult to do that. You have motivated me to take a stab at the next elevator pitch. Great job!
